Common Questions

Do I need an account?

No. CalTrak is local-first and can be used without a CalTrak account where local and direct-provider features are available. A CalTrak account is needed for online food lookup and CalTrak AI. CalTrak AI also requires an active App Store or Google Play subscription.

Does restoring a subscription require a CalTrak account?

No. Purchases and restores are handled by the App Store or Google Play account on your device. CalTrak AI still requires CalTrak sign-in because the secure CalTrak service needs an authenticated account for quotas, entitlement checks, and abuse prevention.

How do I delete my data?

You can delete individual food entries in the app. You can remove local app data by clearing app data or uninstalling CalTrak. Health Connect and Apple Health records are managed in the system health app. For backend account data deletion requests, email privacy@blazapps.com.

How do AI features work?

CalTrak supports two AI paths. With CalTrak AI, your meal text or photo is sent to the secure CalTrak service and forwarded to the configured AI provider. With bring-your-own-key AI, your device sends the request directly to the provider you selected using your own API key. Health data is not included in AI requests.

Do AI features cost extra?

CalTrak AI requires an active CalTrak subscription and a signed-in CalTrak account. BYOK AI uses your own provider API key, and usage may be billed by that provider directly.

How do I sync with Apple Health or Health Connect?

Open Settings and connect the health integration. CalTrak can read and write Nutrition, Hydration, and Weight records with your permission, and can read exercise energy to show calories burned and trends. Health data stays on your device and is not sent to the CalTrak backend.

How do I export my diary?

Open Settings, then Data, and use the CSV export option. CalTrak creates a CSV file only when you start the export, then opens the system share sheet so you can choose where it goes.

I'm seeing the wrong serving size for a food.

Public food databases vary in how they describe servings. CalTrak prefers a household serving when one is available and falls back to grams when needed. You can edit entries and create custom foods for items you log often.
